001 : You can have as many characters as you want--however, if you can't keep them all reasonably active, you can't handle them. Only make as many characters as you an handle. In addition, please keep the ratio of boys to girls roughly even. I know for a fact that many sites have about eight girls to one boy, or vice-versa.
002 : Do not roleplay anywhere on the site without having the application for that character accepted. Mods are watching; we will know.
003 : Use third person past-tense when roleplaying (aside from texting/voicemail messages and blogging, of course). If you don't know what that is, look it up, since you should know by the age you should be at to be here.
004 : On the subject of age... Solstice's roleplay is PG-13. Please keep it at that. I don't want anything too graphic--violently or sexually. You can be romantic with your characters, of course, but PLEASE don't go overboard. 'Overboard' would probably be pregnancy and... what leads up to it. Please keep in mind that I'm very lenient with swearing; as long as you're not cursing every other word, go ahead and use foul language. As for violence... don't go beyond minor bleeding and bruising. These kids are highs school-age and slightly younger/older, after all.
005 : Use proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling in all of your roleplay posts. The minimum word limit for posting is 250 words, give or take of course. I know that everyone has their museless days, but don't make it a habit to go under the limit. If I notice you constantly posting one-liners, I will PM you about it. Just to let you know, it automatically counts the amount of words in your post--the amount is displayed right under the 'preview,' 'post,' et cetera, buttons.
006 : Be ORIGINAL! I cannot stress this enough. I don't know how many cookie-cutter characters I've seen in Gifted Rps/School Rps. I don't want a load of dark, hateful, evil, emo, "TTLY HARDKOAR" ninja kids or whatever. And on the opposite side of the spectrum, I don't want to see KAWAII NEKO ANGELS OF PURENESS. Those types of characters are absolutely flat and uninteresting--if you submit something like that, I will reject it without question. Plus, it shows that you didn't read the rules. ;]
007 : I'd appreciate it if you didn't start huge plots without my permission. If you'd like to start a large plot-type thing, just send me a PM about it. I will most likely approve of it, 99% of the time.
008 : Of course, adhere to the basic rules of roleplay. No Mary Sues/Gary Stus, god-moding, powerplaying, despies, et cetera, et cetera.
009 : When making a board, use the following format. Let's say that you want to name it... 'Fun at the Pool.' Put the person's name that you want to roleplay with in parenthesis after it, if you have a specific person in mind. If you just feel like roleplaying, put "(Open)" instead.
010 : For in-character dialogue, please bold the speaking parts, and use italics for thoughts. For instance... Aw, crap, Bob thought. I forgot about the party. "Aw, crap!" Bob yelled. "I forgot about the party." [Of course, that's just an example. Er, don't roleplay like that.]
011 : Solstice is an extreme supporter of liquid time. In case you're unsure on the meaning of that term, it's a way to refer to the ability to put your character in several threads at once.

001 : If you discriminate against ANYONE on here because of their race, gender, age, orientation, or religion, you will be deleted and blocked without question.
002 : Respect your admin (me) and any/all moderators. Scratch that. Respect ALL members. If you and another member have something to settle, kindly take it to PM. I don't want to get everyone tangled up in drama, and fights look bad in our public chatting places (forum, cbox).
003 : Literacy is important out of character, too, even if it's not as stressed upon as in roleplay. I don't mind acronyms such as "rofl," "lmfao," "wtf," or "omg," but I'd prefer not to see anyone typin lyk dys. OR THiiS. 0r 7h1s.
004 : Stay reasonably active, please. If you show up once in a blue moon, it'll screw up general roleplaying, especially if you have a crucial plot part. If you are going on a vacation or you're grounded or something, please make sure to let me know in the 'Hiatus' board... so I don't accidentally delete you in an activity check or something. If you're consistently inactive, this forum is not for you. I'm sorry.
005 : You are only allowed to have one account. You wouldn't exactly need any mules, seeing as Solstice Academy doesn't require you to make an account per character.
006 : Please make sure that your signature doesn't stretch the page. It's tacky and annoying. I will PM you a warning, and you will have two days to fix it--whether you resize or remove it. If it's not resolved after the two-day time period,I'm converting it into a linkI'm going to go ahead and convert it to the following gif.
Yeah. I went there.
009 : Do NOT ask for a staff position or staff powers. You will come off as power-hungry; if I was previously considering you, I won't anymore. The power-hungry do not have a place as a Solstice mod. Actually, I got an MSN message from a member (now deleted due to an activity check) that ended with 'So, yeah. Mod powers pl0x.' Denied.
010 : Pity da fool. -smirks-
