Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... Sure, send the blind person to go to a crowded venue to write a story. Crowds weren't exactly Tsunami's forte, considering they made so much noise and it was so easy for her to get lost somewhere, even if she knew the place like the back of her eyelids. Crowds meant people constantly moving, pushing and pulling, throwing off her sense of balance and direction. Crowds meant she was out of her element.
Now, mind you, she would have loved to come on a calmer night to listen to the music. She absolutely loved music and all that it encompassed. But small-town venues packed on a Friday night...not her ideal place. Keeping a tight grip on her sight staff and her laptop back she took a deep breath before trying to plunge into the forray, trying to make her way towards the couches she knew were there. But just like she feared, it didn't matter she was blind, no one noticed the stick until they were smacked with it and she was usually in the wrong.
All she wanted was to sit down, the pushing and pulling starting to make her dizzy. She didn't mean to, but she ended up hitting someone very hard in the shin with her staff, trying to find out where she was. "Oh I"m so so sorry! Are you okay?" she asked, her face turned in the direction of the injury. She had on shades to cover her eyes, probably another reason why people didn't bother to move out of her way. But she knew it bothered people to see her whitish-gray eyes, so she wore her shades often.

J o s h
He finally managed to find an opening and walked towards it. He honestly hated crowds, but he had nothing else to do, so why not just watch a show and relax. That would be nice. He was happy to finally find a place, but something whacked him hard in the shin. His teeth clicked together and he bent over in a reaction. He took a deep breath and straightened himself out. It's okay. Didn't feel a thing, he spoke in a strained voice, almost pained. Why do you have that anyway? his voice was better and he took another deep breath. He took a step closer to her, someone pushing his way behind him. I'm Josh, by the way. He told her lightly, unsure of what to do next.
The crowds seemed to move around them. Damn them all. He held his ground, ignoring the constant pushes of people and the loud noises running behind him. Hear, there were probably little to no people who had powers, so he could take them on physically, if he wanted to. Maybe. He grinned at the thought, just realizing the sunglasses she was wearing. Did people usually wear them indoors? He was unsure, but he knew blind people wore them. But what reason in hell would a blind person come to a place like this? Unless, of course, she had a watcher or she like music a lot. He shoved the blind thought out of his head, for now.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... ”People are bad liars when they don’t think others are paying attention.” She reached out and lightly grabbed onto his arm just as she was pushed from behind, someone trying to get across the room. She made a face instantly, just because she really didn’t like having all these people, all these voices around her. ”Tsunami. And I have this thing because it’s the only way for me not to get completely lost in a place like this.”
She was definitely taking the long way of saying she was blind and needed a cane basically to get around. It became more obvious a few seconds later when someone with drinks in their hands was trying to make their way through the crowd and smacked her upside the head with their elbow. Her glasses went flying and her sightless eyes went wide. ”Oh no I just bought those!” She couldn’t hear where they landed, and she was sure they were getting kicked around by now. Her grip on her computer case tightened even more as she tried to use her staff to find her glasses, tripping others in the process. ”Excuse…i’m so sorry…Excuse me…Have you…Please move…”

J o s h He felt her fingers on his arm and his other arm immediately grabbed onto her waist, pulling her a bit forward. It was then he processed what she said. She was blind. He saw her eyes and instantly reached for the glasses. His fingers wrapped around the delicate pieces of glass while his other arm wrapped around her body. The anger just slipped; everybody, unknowingly, seemed to walk away from them. His mirror vision had made it seem like they didn't exist; the dimension of space they were in wasn't there. He concentrated on that and lifted her up, straightening her while he lifted the glasses from the floor. There was a sharp pain in his hand; the result of being stepped on, but everything else seemed fine. He leaned over without thinking and gently placed the sunglasses on her face.
Uh, sorry, he drew his fingers back quickly and almost let his gaze drop, until he realized she couldn't see him. He might've even scolded her for coming to a place that was blind but he figured she didn't need that. Instead, he did the same thing as before and made them relatively invisible as he let his hand brush against her elbow and pulled her gently to a seat.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... There was more than just surprise when the crowd seemed to disperse...no that wasn't the right word. All the voices were still there, loud as day. But...they seemed to just...move away and she could actually breathe normally. And there was the fact that first there was a hand on her wrist, then a protective arm around her body as the guy...Josh...pulled her closer to him. Surprise. curiosity, even a bit of shock? As normal as blind people were in society, people still weren't as...nice as that...
She tilted her head up, as if to look at him, once again in surprise, when he actually place her glasses back on her face. "No, it's, uh, okay... Thank you." Her voice was slightly hushed, compared to the hustle and bustle of the crowd and whoever was playing on the stage. Nami even blushed a little when she felt him lead her away from where they were and helped her towards a seat. Wonderful day... "Never again, am I letting my editor talk me into jobs like this..." she muttered, still flustered by all that had happened. She really didn't like crowds. Though...she found a nice person in the midst of chaos it seemed.

J o s h No problem, he looked away, unable to process that she was blind and couldn't see the awkward look on his face. It was so weird that someone wouldn't see his embarrassment. He was also glad; she couldn't see the pity on his face. He didn't want to pity her. It wouldn't have helped anything; her blindness or his discomfort, but it was just a feeling he couldn't stop. Pity was a part of his growing up. Though, he managed to shove the feeling away when he heard her speak again. He grinned and sat down beside her. I would hope not, he said honestly. Josh shook his head, imagining her getting stamped by idiots who obviously had no idea how to be good people. Not that he was a good person, he just believed they would hurt her and didn't like it.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... Setting her bag down between her feet, she pulled out her laptop and a set of headphones, only putting one bud in her ear as she turned the machine on. The keys looked as if nothing was on them, but if you were to touch them, you could feel raised bumps on each of them. She really didn't need those anymore, having memorized which button was where, but it did help when she was out of ideas and just slowly skimming the buttons with her fingers. "I'm Tsunami," she said outloud, holding her hand out towards where she heard Josh's voice last. "Thanks again, really. Though I think my article is going to sound a bit mean because of the crowd." She typed in her password and then waited for her command box to open.

J o s h Hm. I can understand that. I wouldn't be too happy if I were run over he claimed, half of his attention on the band or whatever that was playing. They weren't that bad, actually. He was soon enjoying it and listened closely to their sounds. His attention, though was not fully on it, though, for he was distracted by the girl sitting beside him. He glanced at her; she was pretty. His body was slightly closer than appropriate, only because he felt the dyer need to watch over her. Was that normal? Having a need to protect a stranger? He was unsure, but he didn't particularly dislike it. It made him feel important. He liked that; like he was needed. He had never felt that before.
Josh turned toward her. She was a bit off while 'looking' at him, and he grinned. Tsunami? What an awesome name. Don't hear that very often, do you? he had humor in his voice; he was gently teasing her, though he really did love her name. It was so unique, which attracted him more toward it.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... Usually Tsunami would be more relaxed, enjoying the music with her remaining senses, but because she had to report on it, she was analyzing the scene, thinking about the sounds, the smells, the vibrations the bass was giving off. She still wondered why her editor kept giving her stories that would usually require the sense of sight, though she gave off a basic description from what she got from others.
A smile curved her lips as she heard him speak of her name. No one had ever said her name was awesome before. "Yea, I think my parents had a sense of humor when they named me. I think it had something to do with how much I cried when I was born." She had tried to ask before, and all she got was subtle laughter when they didn't answer. Instead they would just pat her head and send her off to do something else. She figured it had something to do with her crying when she looked it up in a braille dictionary. Then she didn't talk for a week.
"What's your name, if you don't mind me asking?" It took her until then to notice that he was rather close to her, more than people usually are, but she didn't ask him to move or anything. She just figured it was because there were so many people there and not much room for the chairs. Her fingers took their time typing, slowly generating a decent length article that would sooth her boss over and possibly get him to leave her alone for awhile. If he gave her one more event story, then she was blatantly refusing it.

Josh, he chuckled at her reasoning. At least you have a unique name. Josh. It's so common, he smiled to himself, completely forgetting about the music while he watched her type. Her delicate fingers moved smoothly over the keys and he watched as the letters appeared on the screen. He didn't actually read it; that would be unfair. She couldn't even catch him doing it. He smirked at the idea. Your boss must be an idiot. Isn't he worried at all? perhaps it was the hint to her that he had figured out her handicap, if she was handicapped at all. She didn't act like it at all, which was one of the main reasons he felt a jolt of attraction to her.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... She smiled at his name, shaking her head. "I like your name. It's what you make of it, not how many people have it." Her fingers paused as she tried to think of how to describe the current band on stage. Their sound had a darker edge than the others yet it was so easy to get caught up in it and start dancing. That gave her an idea to type when she heard his question. "Jonathan? Worried about me? He'll worry about me when hell freezes over. But I bet as soon as I even think the words 'I quit' he'll think of every reason on earth why I should stay. He never thinks of my eyes, just my writing."
Yes, she caught the hint. It wasn't that hard of a one to decipher. It was just the fact that he didn't mention it out loud that she liked. As much as it didn't bother her anymore, she tried to act as normal as possible, because she was normal. People tended to act nicer when it came to physical disabilities. When it came to things like sight or hearing, it was as if people pressed an ignorant button in their minds. It only took a few more minutes of typing before she finished what she was going to say, saved it, and then sent it off to her boss. He also liked that she was prompt, which gave her more brownie points, and more 'dangerous' assignments.

J o s h Psh. You're brave. I could never do that. I'd be too freaking scared. Honestly, I would never be able to get used to it. He told her, watching as the message was sent. He was listening to the music, still distracted, but he liked it. He imagined playing it on his guitar; he could probably get the basic beat down, but after that, he wouldn't be sure. Aren't you curious about some things? he was trying to get to know her but he didn't want to sound...ignorant. Josh sighed gently, relaxing only a bit. Places like this made him an easy target for his brother and his henchmen. It almost frightened him that he might hurt her or something.
He felt something odd, almost like he'd seen her before or something. But he couldn't put his finger on it. What he did like, though, was how she was strong enough to walk in public when she was blind. He knew he would've completely freaked out if it were him, which obviously showed the difference between them. He was envious of it.

Sight is overrated.......enjoy it while you have the chance... Tsunami felt around her keyboard until she found the power button, then she closed her laptop and slipped it back into her bad. "I've had a long time to get used to the way things are. Besides, I think it's funny at times, like when he's desperate for a story and I'm out sick or on vacation, or I just don't feel like writing. I wouldn't give it up for the world. Not just yet." Without the article looming over her ehad now, she could just sit back and relax, enjoying the company as she listened to both him and the music. At times it was still hard, splitting her attention like that, but, as hse said, she's gotten used to the way thingare. Otherwise she'd never have been able to get through life so far.
"Curious? About what? The sights that I'm missing?" She wasn't mad or upset, she just wanted to make sure that she understood correctly. "There are times, when I wish I could just watch a sunrise or see an artist paint, even just be able to sit by the ocean and see the waters that I can only hear and smell. But this happened to me for a reason, and dwelling on it doesn't really help." Her hand reached up and touched just above her collarbone, to where a necklace was hidden beneath her clothes. One day, she would really like to be able to see the pictures within... "What about you? What do you like to do for fun?"

J o s h Hobbies? I play guitar and enjoy going to the beach when it rains, but I can't really do anything else, he wasn't trying to hint at anything, but it seemed obvious he could do things but wouldn't. He sighed lightly and glared silently as someone bumped into him before moving closer to her. I'm not a very interesting person, he added for good measure. He watched her silently and felt strange. He actually listened to the music, an odd image of something bad happening to her making him suddenly edgy. He relaxed himself the best he could, but it hardly helped. He took a deep breath, trying to think of something else. Why was he so worried, anyway?
When he finally got himself together, he turned toward her again. His hand moved close to hers, not enough for her to know, but still there. The scenario in his head, which he now brushed away, had scared him. Therefore, he was getting closer, just in case.
