READY SET GO !! it's time to run !! THE SKY IS CHANGING WE ARE ONE !! HYO QULONG. together we can make it while the world is CRASHING DOWN.The grass was cold beneath his hands. Hyo was seated on one of the fields, squinting up at the grey sky. The clouds were clustered closely, and there was a definite chill to the air. Hyo was not cold, his arms and torso covered by a longsleeved, button-up blue shirt with thin, slightly darker stripes cutting across it. His jeans were clean and devoid of grass stains, despite his chosen seat. Hyo blinked, his dark eyes thoughtful, and ran a hand through his hair. The style he had worn for the last few months was growing tired. The blonde was fading from his hair, so it was now a dark black-brown. Soon it would return to it's usual jet-black. It just reached his chin, flopping casually. When it had regained it's usual ebon colour, he would gel it into spikes, as he always used to. Hyo stretched his long arms with a yawn, debating going back up to his room, seeing as there was nothing or nobody else out here. It was quite cold, after all.

~Sara Hentri~
It was a quiet, gray afternoon, and a lone figure emerged from the school building, into the courtyard, walking at a leisurely pace. Sara was coming out of class, tired and overwhelmed with schoolwork. She paused to tuck her textbook into her bag, brushing her sandy blonde hair out of her eyes. The air was bitingly cold, especially for Sara, who wore only a rather thin red sweater over her plain tee-shirt. Thick clouds blanketed the sky, and it seemed close to rain. She'd stayed late after class to finish a test she'd missed the other day, and so now the courtyard was deserted, the last of the students that had rushed so excitedly out of the school after class having long left.
As much work as she had to do, Sara wasn't in the mood to go back to her dorm and start to tackle it. She wandered out of the courtyard into a nearby field at her own pace. That was when she realised that it wasn't deserted after all. A young boy was prone on the grass nearby, looking up at the sky. She recognised him vaguely from one of her classes. He had darkish hair, which he casually ran his hand through. He didn't see her at first. She waved timidly at him, not really expecting a response. Sara was a shy person, who didn't really expect to make much of an impression on people... it was a right expectation, she thought, considering she was rather hard to get to know, and most people just didn't bother. She quickened her pace slightly, ready to move on as the first few fat drops of rain fell, wetting her long, slightly wavy hair. The long grass swayed in the rising wind.

HYO QULONG. together we can make it while the world is CRASHING DOWN.Hyo blinked as footsteps sounded on the grass, squashing down the green stems. He glanced at the culprit of the noise. He recognized the girl from one of his classes. She had long, sandy blonde hair, and wore a red sweater. Yes, he remembered her. Sara Hentri. Twin by the name of Ivy. That was it. He smiled at her pleasently, as he would have done with anybody. It surprised him a little when she aimed a dainty little wave in his direction. As far as he could tell, she was shy and quiet most of the time. He was beginning to wonder if he had got her mixed up with somebody else, when she flushed, clutched her books tighter, and hurried on past him. Her hair was over her face, but he could tell she was flustered. Hyo got to his feet quickly, but fluidly, and fell in step beside her. Of course, he was not one to impose himself on people, if they'd rather not have his company. But he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable, either. He smiled at her again. "Hey. Sara, isn't it?" he asked in a soft, perfectly friendly tone.

Sara hadn't noticed his friendly smile. If she had, she'd have been extremely self-conscious; her expectation to be ignored was born of long years at her elementary and junior high school in her hometown of being one of the "quiet ones." The ones whose closest friends claimed to be interesting, funny, great friends, but who everyone else for the life of them couldn't tell why. In truth, Sara was definitely not the kind of person she seemed; she had a dry, cynical sense of humor that was funny nonetheless, and she had an angry temper if she was mad. She was strong, and mature, but could be irresponsible if she was hyper. She could make her friends laugh like crazy over the silliest things, but if you didn't know her, she would automatically resort to her default setting - mistrust, and silence.
So, when the boy on the grass came after her, falling into step beside her, you can imagine what she thought. "Hey, it's Sara, isn't it?" Sara was torn between friendliness and mistrust, as she looked up at him in surprise. At her old school, this would have been either a weird joke, or an effort to find out about her and her sister's strange powers, for the sake of gossip. Sara made herself stop. She always had a tendency to over-analyse situations. Fighting it off, she managed a self-conscious smile. "Hey." She said it like a question. "I'm sorry," she added. "I don't really remember your name..."

HYO QULONG. together we can make it while the world is CRASHING DOWN.Hyo's expression did not change, despite her obvious hesitation. He was used to wary people. He didn't mind if a person found it hard to open up. He was patient. Hyo didn't even mind that Sara could not remember his name. It wasn't the sort of name you heard everyday. Hyo Qulong. He chuckled a little at her words. "I don't mind," he said honestly. "I wouldn't expect you to remember it." Hyo was encouraged by the self-conscious smile that curled over her face. He wondered why somebody like Sara felt so out of place here. She was clever - he remembered that about her. And pretty. So surely she should be popular...? School hierachy's didn't make much sense to him. Whatsoever. "I'm Hyo. Hyo Qulong," he said mildly, not wanting to intimidate her. So instead of shaking her hand he just smiled a little at her, his dark eyes friendly.

Hyo was giving Sara an almost puzzled glance, which made her feel uncomfortable, but as he spoke, the expression was replaced by a smile once again. Sara was at temporary ease. She smiled in return. There wasn't really any explanation for Sara's insecurity - well, any explanation that she wanted to share anytime soon. Everytime she thought of it, the guilt and the pain surged through her veins like poison, ruining everything she would otherwise have enjoyed. It was a selfish way out, Sara knew, and that made her hate herself more than ever. So, instead, she told herself she simply wasn't a people person, and left it at that. "Since when does anyone expect me to remember anything?" she said, laughing. "I'm an extremely out-of-it person - just a warning. My dad always says I have my head in the clouds." Ah yes, good times, good times. She rolled her eyes inwardly at herself, but was slightly cheered nonetheless. Sara could be moody, especially when it came to bad memories from the past, but good memories with no strings of regret attached were always nice.
ooc; definitely not my best post... -groans- also, sorry for the delay ^^

HYO QULONG. Hyo smiled when she laughed. It was good to see somebody laughing here. Usually when you saw somebody doing so, they were laughing at somebody else's expense. It wasn't nice. Hyo sighed briefly, his mood a little dampened by the thought. Solstice wasn't always the best place to be, but it was certainly better than home. He wondered briefly what his parents were up to, but the thoughts soon faded. His father had wanted to send him away. He knew his mother worried, but he just couldn't muster up enough enthusiasm at the moment to feel for her. He had felt pushed out when they sent him here. Packed off to boarding school, where he couldn't embarass them. Hyo blinked, his dark eyes registering that he was still with Sara. He chastised himself for being so rude. He smiled his small, sincere smile at her words. The way she said 'just a warning', as though she anticipated friendship, tickled him. It was sweet.
"Got it," he said, clicking his fingers with a chuckle. Her next words immediatly dragged his thoughts back to his own stubborn father, but he clawed his way back to reality, blinking a couple of times. Sara sounded as though she were trying to block bad memories too. The look in her eyes was familiar, because he recognized it from within his own. "You okay?" he asked, anxious. He didn't like to think that anyone would experience pain because of their parents. It was a terrible thing.

Hyo sighed lightly, and Sara looked at him curiously. Her mother often sighed dramatically, so that people would notice her and ask if something was wrong. Usually it was just a lack of help in the kitchen, or something similar. Sara was tempted to laugh at that thought, but she didn't, because Hyo looked genuinely upset. This was different, somehow. As Sara watched a miraid of emotions flit across his face, and she hoped she hadn't said anything to offend him. He looked sad, and like he was trying to put something bad out of his mind. In fact, she recognised the look very well, because she'd worn it on her own face so many times when something somebody or other said reminded her of something she preferred not to remember. But at the same time, she felt like remembering was no more than she deserved. In fact, she deserved much worse. So she'd just let the swarm of bad memories take her for their own, and continue to do so every time they were aroused.
”You okay?” He asked lightly. She looked at him, startled, hoping her thoughts hadn't been showing on her face. It was one thing for her friends to be able to easily tell her thoughts, her mood, whether or not she was lying. But for someone she barely knew? It made her extremely uncomfortable. ”I'm fine,” she said, automatically. ”I was about to ask you the same thing.” Actually she hadn't been about to ask him any such thing. Sara hated to pry, so she usually waited for people to tell her things of their own accord. Usually never happened, except in the case of her closest friends, whom she knew everything about anyways, just as they knew everything about her. Well... except for that one thing. Ivy was the only one who knew about that. Sara shook off the thoughts, turning her attention back to Hyo. Offence was the best defence, or so they said.
