At Silver's first words, Aria almost felt pity for her. Silver's entire demeanor said that she knew people didn't care about her, but yet she didn't give a shit. But Aria, for one, knew that in Silver's position, she, for one, would care. She would be unbearably lonely. But then again, Silver had Link. Aria's sympathy vanished as soon as it had come. Well, obviously nobody cares about you if you try to kill them every other day! she thought indignantly, but before she could speak the words aloud, Link was beside her. She took his whispered advice and shut her mouth, eying Silver warily. Link spoke reassuringly to his sister, and Aria prayed that would be enough, but Silver was having none of it. "Link," she said, sending him blasting back toward the far wall with a raised hand, "You're such an idiot." There was a moment of horrified silence during which Aria gasped, watching Link stir feebly. He was hurt badly, that much she could tell by a single glance. Aria rushed to his side, before standing up once again, turning to face Silver's ice-cold glare. "In response to your previous question," she said, her voice rock-hard, "I'm Aria Wren. You know, the element-controlling freak?" And with that, her last bits of pity vanishing into nothing, Aria extended her hand and sent all the carefully preserved energy shooting toward Silver in one pure jet of freezing cold water.

Silver watched calmly as the ice water shot towards her, as if she didn't give a damn about whether it hit her or not. Of course, she did. No one wants friggin' cold water to hit them, right? And at full blast too. So instead of running or ducking like any sensible person would, she just continued staring until the last minute, then glared at the jet about to hit her. It immediately froze, falling to the ground with a loud, echoing clunk. So, you're Aria Wren. I've heard about you, Silver said, completely ignoring the fact that she had almost been powned. Apparently, you're really dangerous. Not to me, though. But I'm curious. Why'd you stick around to protect my loser brother, when it might result in you being badly injured as well? She walked over so that she was only a little bit away from her brother. Link stared up at his sister, then at Aria. Oh no, don't tell me, he groaned. You two are not going to fight, are you? It's not worth it, to fight over lil' ol' me. Besides, Aria, I don't think you have enough energy to duke it out with my sister, though you did almost pown her a moment ago. Silver, please don't hurt her. It wouldn't be very nice. Don't give me your 'it wouldn't be very nice' crap, Link, she said. I'm tired of the lies. He looked blank. I'm not lying, it wouldn't be very nice. I guess not, but you weren't very nice to me, this was directed at Aria. I don't like people who try to hurt me.

Aria almost laughed... as it was, the look on her face, derisive and mocking, said it all. "You're one to lecture me about hurting people. Look what you just did to your own brother! I, who have no obligation to you whatsoever, just shot a bit of water at your face. And look what you did to him!" She paused, trying to calm down. She was no good when she got like this; all it did was piss people off. As if they weren't all pissed enough already...
But then again, at least she hadn't unleahed the fire that was stored in her other hand. She was prepared to at any moment, but she needed to see if Link was alright. A fight wouldn't really help things... but then again, if Silver tried anything more, Aria would have to defend herself. She saw what the girl could do, and she was scared for Link and for herself. Hell, she was scared for anyone that encountered Silver in a mood like this. Or in any mood at all, really.
Aria took a breath. She used to be such a calm person. What was wrong with her lately? A month ago if this had happened, she'd be rushing Link to the hospital, and to hell with Silver and her tantrums. But now it was like she'd taken over Mairi's position as the Super-agressive drama queen. Before, she'd been the one full of determination to meet everyone's expectations, to surpass them, in fact. She'd wanted to be the best she could be, and not let anyone down. Now, she was trying to prove everyone wrong about her. Escape the expectations, once and for all. Aria opened her mouth to back down. It would be the smart, sensible thing to do. It would be what a smart, sensible person like the former Aria would have done. But she stopped. What stopped her was the knowledge that both Link and Silver expected her to cave. "I don't think you have enough energy to duke it out with my sister, though you did almost pown her a moment ago..." "It might result in you being badly injured as well..." That was enough. Now Aria was determined to prove them wrong about her. It would be nice to let go and just let out all her anger, rather than quelling and putting on a brave mask... a sheid... like she always had before...

Silver! cut in Link hurriedly, hearing Aria's thoughts; she was not going to back down, and that would be bad for both of them. Well, not so much Link, but it would affect him too, if no one was around to take him to the hospital. Maybe you could take me to a medical center? Pretty please? With sugar, or puppies, or whatever else? Silver was too intent on Aria to listen to him. She wasn't psychic, thank god for that, but, like most humans when they're threatened, she felt the atmosphere shift and was on guard for danger. She had no doubt that Aria could be quite dangerous as well, though it would be interesting to see the outcome... Link saw her expression change in to the one he'd seen so many times before; the calculating, cool, logical and even-more-dangerous-because-of-this expression. She wouldn't hesitate to break Aria, nor would Aria hesitate to break her. Silver! he cried again. Aria! Stop screwing around and take me to the hospital, gol'darnit! he looked at them again, and decided to try a different tactic. Now now, kids, this wonn't help anyone. Especially me. So why don't you- Link chose this, Sillver broke in, obvioudly ignoring everything her brother had previously said. He chooses to hurt himself by staying next to me; he knows I'm unstable, but still he stays. I've tried to make him go, but no luck yet. but you, Aria, her ice eyes focused on Aria even more, as if she were attempting to bore a hole through her. You and me, we're not so different. Except you keep yourself in an eternal pity-party. I heard what happened to your friend; get over it. We only live once, and she died early, which is a shame, i guess, but she's gone. Stop crying over it. she looked over at Link. Do you think I hit a nerve? He groaned, burying his facce in his hands. I'm never going to get to a hospital, am I?

Aria's slap was quick, but scalding, resonating throughout the room. Glaring at Silver, her eyes smouldering with hatred, she spoke through clenched teeth. "Don't - talk - about - what - you - will - never - understand." She paused, as if mulling something over. Then she added, "And why will you never understand how it is to have your friend die? Because you don't have any friends. Never have. Never will. At least, you never will if you keep treating people the way you treat your brother, and saying things to people like what you just said to me." Her words were petty and designed to hurt, just like Silver's had been. I mean, the girl had just said as much aloud. Do you think I hit a nerve? DO YOU THINK I HIT A NERVE? What the hell was wrong with her? How immature and desperate could you get? Aria was trembling with fury.
Then, she turned away from Silver as if she didn't exist, and walked over to Link. "You okay?" she asked softly, bending over beside him. "Can you get up, or should I call an ambulance?" Her mind flashed briefly to the question of what they would tell the doctor. They'd probably have to lie. Aria, for one, had no problem with telling the truth and letting Silver take the blame, but Link was too loyal. Plus, the truth would hardly be plausible to any self-respecting paramedic. "Oh yeah... oh, you want to know how he broke half the bones in his body? Well ya see, that was his little sister - she slammed him against the wall using her special superpower. Very unstable, that one."

Instead of spazzing out, which any other person would have done, Silver just gave a slow smirk, raising her hand to her face. I think I did hit a nerve. Careful, I wouldn't want to have to break you.b] for the first time, she showed her teeth in the smile. For someone so incredibly unstable, she was quite dazzling. Your elements won't work on me. I am total power. Right, big brother? she turned her face childishly towards Link for reassurance. Link had been chuckling slightly at Aria's thoughts, but immediately rearranged his features in to neutral.Right, Silver, he agreed easily. I think my broken bones show that. he leaned towards Aria, whispering. That's the thing with her; she wasn't joking when she said she was unstable. Prone to the purest of madness, calm yet savage, childish yet wise. Her mindset rocks from one extreme to the other. Isn't she amazing? he beamed as he said this. After all the years, he still looked at her with pride, love, and amazement that he was her brother. I couldn't have gotten luckier. Silver did the dazzling smile again. Thanks, brother. Now, Aria. I know you would love to beat me up right now. But it would be a bit boring for me, so why don't we get my brother to our friend first? He can rest up, and then you can voice your complaints with me. 'Kay? already she was using the wind to carry Link out the door. Don't worry, no one will see us, she whispered to him.

Aria continued to ignore Silver throughout her entire condescending little speech, restraining herself from turning around and bitching off at the girl. Instead, she concentrated on calculating the extent of Link's injuries. She hoped he'd be okay. She was rather irritated when Link said his sister was amazing. An amazing bitch, sure. With an amazing temper... most definitely. But then again, Link was her brother. He knew her better than Aria did. "I'm sure," agreed Aria smoothly, sarcasm thick in her voice. Silver continued going on, now sounding smug, but Aria didn't pay her any mind. Because of that, she was extremely surprised when a stiff blast of wind picked him up carefully and began to carry him out of the common room, Silver following along. "I know you would love to beat me up right now. But it would be a bit boring for me, so why don't we get my brother to our friend first? He can rest up, and then you can voice your complaints with me. 'Kay?" She said, a bit bossily, but then again, as much as Aria hated to admit it, Silver was the one who actually knew what she was doing. "Don't worry, no one will see us," Silver added to her brother in a voice that Aria probably wasn't supposed to hear. Quelling her temper at Silver's "beating me up" comment, Aria nodded. "Okay, I'll be sure to do just that. Um, where does this friend live?" Aria tried not to feel out of place with the two siblings, trying also to get over her anger towards Silver. She'd only been pissed at Silver in the first place because she'd hurt Link, but now Link wasn't even mad at her any more. It was hard. Right now, every time Aria thought of Silver slamming Link against the wall, she saw red. Purest of madness, indeed.
ooc; so yeah, if Silver and Link's friend lives somewhere off campus, we should probably end this thread and start a new one in "elsewhere" or wherever this friend lives. lol.
