MY MINDinsideOUT
Cadence is a different person, depending on who you are. Who she is talking to. To strangers, she is just another person. She is unlikely speak to somebody unless they speak to her. She doesn't like to put her trust in people unless they prove she can count on them. She likes to spend more time getting to know people. If they extend the hand of friendship, she will shake it, if tentatively. She will be polite at first, rather than cold. This will then move to a little warmth. Cadence will never be utterly blank or mean to a person who tries to befriend her - she just likes to assess them first. Cadence chooses her friends carefully, which leads to some people thinking she is shy. It is not that she is shy, but her power can be too easily taken advantage of for her to be careless about company. She doesn't want to be the tool to somebody's perfect life. But around those who she knows she can trust, she is a happy, easy-going person. She likes to have fun with her friends, and is essentially, like any other teenager. She will burst out laughing at a joke that was shared the day before. Cadence also has the ability to transport herself to another world inside her head, where sher can forget about and ignore the real world around her. If you see her sat, head in her hand, eyes glazed, humming to herself, don't bother trying to talk to her.
Cadence doesn't have what you'd call a short temper, but can get very defensive if she is insulted, or one of her friends. She is not the sort to sit back while somebody she cares about is hurt or taunted, and hopes her friends would do the same for her. She is a very loyal friend - once you befriend her, she will never let anything happen to you (if she can help it.) But if you betray her trust, she will find it hard to forgive you. Cadence is not the sort of person to yell a lot when she is angry. She is more likely to stand in silence, glaring at you, then go to her room and scrawl stories of you tripping in front of your crush... Or choking on a sandwich... Or being late for class....
Oh yeah, Cadence get's revenge with real style.
MY POWERinmyVEINS
Cadence's power is not your average power. She does not have water shooting from her fingertips, or the ability to change into the animal of her choice. Her ability is far more subtle, yet more deadly, in some ways. Cadence was born to two lyrical writers. Naturally, she grew up to be quite the songwriter. But the thoughts of a little girl Cadence, scrawled unevenly on a piece of paper, are not what you'd expect to come true. But they did. And no, it was not chance. Whenever Cadence writes something down, letter by letter, word by word, it will come true. Yes, folks. So, if you mess with her, expect something to come your way. Cadence is not a malicious person. Her power could be a very dangerous thing in the wrong hands. But Cadence would never cause death or destruction with her powers, not intentionally, anyway. The extent that she uses her powers is: to be revenge on those who have annoyed her, and to remind herself to do things. I'll explain both of them to you.
Cadence takes pleasure in getting revenge on people who are cruel to her. She will force them to make a fool of themself in front of people they would like to admire them, or get them into trouble in class, or make an insect bite them. Trivial little things like that. She would never go too far, never physically injure them (past the insect bite.) So. You're Cadence's friend, and you betray her? Oh, and you happen to reveal your mortal fear of spiders during the friendship? Don't be surprised if you encounter a gigantic and hairy tarantula. Now, moving on to the other side of her power. Cadence often writes down reminders for herself, for things she thinks she will forget to do. For example, she could write 'Cadence Crow will wake up an hour early in order to get to class in time', or 'on the 5th December 2008, at 6:00 PM, Cadence Crow will remember she is going to a party'.
Lastly, Cadence has to be very precise with what she wants. If she simply wrote, 'at 2.00 PM, in class, Poppy will spill water all down herself', this would happen every day. She would have to put the correct date. And, also, the only way to stop something that Cadence has written down happening is to burn the piece of paper. That's the only way.
MY LOOKSforyouTOsee!
Cadence has a fairly pretty face. She is not startlingly and utterly beautiful, but she is not ugly, either. She has high, angular cheekbones and a pointed nose. Her eyes are large and thickly lashed. She has skin so white is is like porcelain. But her cheeks are rosy pink. When Cadence is embarrased, she will flush a furious and fiery scarlet that looks most unwelcome on her white skin. Cadence has quite full lips. Her hair only just reaches her shoulders. It is wavy, and she has a straight fringe across her brow. It hides her slim, dark eyebrows. Her hair is very dark, chocolate brown. Cadence has a dark, blue-green eyes. She is quite short, and slender. She is small in every account. But she has a certain amount of grace to her, so that her size is not something that hampers her.
Cadence likes to dress in bright colours. She doesn't wear skirts, ever, and only grudgingly wears dresses to special occasions. She loves jeans, and has a pair in every colour and pattern you could possibly imagine (whenever she wants a new pair, she just grabs a piece of paper...). Cadence prefers skinny jeans, which make her legs looks longer and show off their slimness. She likes long t-shirts with logo's and character's on. For example, she has a Pingu shirt, a Felix The Cat shirt and a Muppets shirt. She also likes band shirts. But she also likes to wear more mature clothes, like flowered nylon dress-tops, with jeans. She has a shiny royal blue coat that she wears out when it's cold. She also like to wear woolen beret hats. (In rainbow colours again.) She never seems to be wearing any shoes other than converses and pumps.
MY PASTreadITandWEEP
Diago Crow met Azura Crescent, and it wasn't long before love blossomed and a marriage, and a baby, were on the way. They lived in a sleepy town in England, and were thought to be the oddballs of the community. They were frowned upon a lot because of the old traditions of the town, and the way they flaunted the fact that they refused to follow them. When Azura gave birth to a baby girl on November 13th, 1992, before the wedding, the townspeople turned against them completely. From their odd names, to the way they dressed, they were hated. The two named their baby daughter Cadence, meaning rhythm, due to the fact that both were song writers. Cadence grew up in a bright and beautiful world of music and singing. She would trill along to songs before she was even four, and took up writing herself just after learning the alphabet. Her first song was supervised by Azura. It occured to her after the first line (if Teddy was sat in Daddy's armchair) that something odd was going on. The little girl continued, unaware that everything she wrote was coming to pass, until her mother snatched the pencil away.[/blockquote]
Azura told Diago, and the two of them took their daughter to the hospital. They could find nothing wrong with Cadence, and when her parents explained why they had brought their daughter, the doctors thought them mad. Azura and Diago decided that they would have to educate their child at home. It was probably a good thing, due to the hatred directed at their family from all sides. Cadence didn't understand why she wasn't allowed to write until she was seven. At this age, her parents found ways to get past her odd power. But it was hard. The whole town thought that Cadence was disabled, because she was never seen outside of the house. Rumours started up that her parents were abusing her, and the police were called. When the rumours sere cleared up as just that, Azura and Diago decided enough was enough. They packed up and moved to a flat in London, where they could live in peace.
Cadence lived there with her parents until she was eleven. This was when Azura found out about Solstice Academy. She researched the school, and showed it to Diago and Cadence. Eventually, Cadence was sent there after deciding she wanted to try the school. She was warned direly not to use her powers unless she needed too, though of course she abuses this rule in places; having herself find new clothes when she feels she needs them, getting petty revenge on her enemies. That sort of thing.
